Description
Notes from Underground (Modern Edition)
By Fyodor Dostoevsky Translated by Constance Garnett
Discover the book that shaped modern literature and anticipated existentialism – Notes from Underground, Dostoevsky’s unforgettable portrait of a mind at war with itself.
Written in 1864, this short but profound novel introduced a revolutionary new voice: the Underground Man – bitter, isolated, and brutally honest about human weakness. His chaotic thoughts challenge reason, free will, morality, and the very meaning of existence.
Dostoevsky’s Notes from Underground paved the way for generations of modern writers and thinkers – from Kafka to Camus to Sartre – and remains as provocative and relevant today as when it first appeared. If you enjoy psychological fiction, existential literature, or books that explore the darker side of the human condition, this is essential reading.
