Description
Charlie is a 13-year-old girl who grew up in poverty, exposed to the alcoholism and violent lifestyle of her father. The family resides in an uncared-for trailer park, nicknamed The Grave. Desperate to escape her reality, she falls prey to the seduction and lies of an older man. Mr. Mac is prominent and upstanding in their small community. As she searches for affirmation and acceptance, Charlie doesn’t realize she is being victimized until it is too late.
Jennifer Riley, CPS supervisor, leads a team of investigators who specialize in sexual and severe abuse cases. Her unit is called upon to protect Charlie from predators and the home life that has forged her vulnerability. Jennifer will soon learn that justice in a small town is not blind.
Daniel Bradshaw, a teen independent living specialist and the love interest of Jennifer, is accused of culpability in the Fentanyl overdose of a teen under his supervision. When other teens in the city begin to die, Daniel is exonerated as it becomes evident that a predator is pushing a poisonous product to vulnerable teens. Jennifer works with Daniel to find the killer before more teens die. But will their love survive the pressure?
